Build 20 years after the first construction work around the harbor of Saint-Martin, the quarter Rochelongue ist situated at the Westside with view over the Fort Brescou, the only island made of the lava of the volcanoes of Auvergne. Marked is the quarter by middle sized mansions, housing areas with four or five floors and campgrounds in the west of the area. The advantage of being not in the middle of the events at the harbor but close enough to have all the facilities nearby is obvious. The beach, which is the extension of the one of Richelieu is large and the sand is of a rare grain size.
